MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
My friends and I did it---walked 60 miles in three days, raising over $10,000 between the four of us--with the help of those who donated to this VERY worthy cause.
DAY ONE: Beautiful conditions, partly sunny, an emotional opening ceremony, and we were off--the last 2 miles were long!
DAY TWO: "various conditions--all wet and cold. We woke in our tents, some to puddles, some of us "IN" puddles. My friends and I made all 22 miles that day in rain--not bad, then freezing rain-okay "whats going on", then hail--"what the hell!", then snow. We were frozen, wet, numb, but determined! We were 4 among apprx. 100 of the 3,900 walkers who finished that day,--the last 5 miles were tough!
DAY THREE: Again, beautiful day--of course as long as it was dry we were happy! The finish line was a beautiful sight!
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES. PEOPLE LINED STREETS DURING THE WALK, IN VARIOUS TOWNS, GIVING US DRINKS, CANDY, SUPPORT. POLICEMEN WISHED US LUCK, TRUCKERS HONKED IN SUPPORT, HOMES AND BUSINESSES HAD SIGNS AND BALLOONS TO CHEER US ON.
Thank you to all who supported me in monetary means, as well as emotional support. "HUMANKIND--BE BOTH"
P.S Yes I would do it again, and will be! Consider joining my husband, friends and I!
